The Second Day

Wow! Hanukkah and Shabbat! Does it get better than this?

Today is the second day of the Feast of Dedication and it is also the weekly Shabbat. Hanukkah is a time of personal and national dedication. It is a time when we recall champions, who against all odds, made the decision to resist the wicked and clean the Temple. And it is worth remembering, oh yeah!

We don’t have the Temple, yet your body is to be a resting place for the Glory of G-d. It takes strength, boldness, tenacity, and faith to clean your temple. You must have the willingness to go against mainstream. It could mean standing alone. It may cause people to laugh at you. But a clean place for G-d is worth it, right? Yet if G-d is the only person on your side (impossible) you have everyone outnumbered.

The world needs more champions. Be a champion! As you dedicate your life to the Holy One, (Blessed is He), may you become more concerned with pleasing the Great I Am than you are with pleasing those who have rejected His love and truth.

On this day, may you find the strength, boldness, tenacity and faith to make a decision to clean your temple and dedicate your life to making the praises of G-d glorious!

Shabbat Shalom and Happy Hanukkah!
