As the sun was setting in Israel tonight the New Moon became visible, making tonight the First Day of The Second Month.
Unfortunately, the significance of this time is lost on so many people. But since God does not change, this time will always have great importance to Him. Is it a High Holy or a rest day? I don’t think so. Yet, that doesn’t dimension its mean or its important.
“This is what Adonai ELOHIM says: ‘The east gate of the inner courtyard is to be shut on the six working days, but on Shabbat it is to be opened, AND on Rosh-Hodesh (New Moon) it is to be opened. The prince is to enter by way of the outer vestibule of the gate and stand by the support of the gate. The cohanim (priest) are to prepare his burnt offering and peace offerings. Then he is to prostrate himself in worship at the threshold of the gate, after which he is to leave; but the gate is not to be shut until evening. The people of the land are also to prostrate themselves in worship before Adonai at the entrance to that gate on Shabbat AND on Rosh-Hodesh.

The prophet tells us that we should be looking forward to the new moon because we get to worship the True and Living GOD!
Isaiah tells us that there is coming a time when
“For just as the new heavens and the new earth that I am making will continue in my presence,” says Adonai , “so will your descendants and your name continue. “Every month on Rosh-Hodesh and every week on Shabbat , everyone living will come to worship in my presence,” says Adonai .

Let’s not wait until He comes back. Let’s humble ourselves and worship now. Take the time to get closer to Him.
